Hi,
I recall people telling me that when SQL Server 2000 came out, they had purc
hased SQL Server 2000 licenses but initially installed SQL Server 7, then la
ter upgraded to 2000 - all on the one 2000 license. Is that acceptable as fa
r as MS is concerned? Is th
at an option when buying SQL Server after 2005 comes out?
Thanks,
JKHi Jill,
The word from licensing is that in general we do permit customers to install
down level version of the software under our license but we can't comment on
Server 2005 licensing at this stage
thanks,
