2005 tools

I have a copy of sql 2005 and am wondering if I can load the client tools to
manage my sql server 2000 machines? If so, are there any thing I need to
watch out for? I don't want to break my test or production servers.

There are no problems in managing a SQL2000 instance with SQL Server
Management Studio. If you use DTS packages though, you can't edit them
in SQL Server Management Studio but I think that's one of the only
limitations I can think of.

You can manage your 2000 servers using Management Studio, and you CAN
edit legacy DTS packages if you download the optional DTS designer for
Management Studio:
