Hi I have a 2005 dbase running on my local machine but when I open Analysis
services I get the following error
(no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it).
Also just wondering if there are any tutorials on setting up a simple data
warehousing service?
thanks

This appears to be a bug and I believe there was a fix for this.
However, can you connect to Analysis Services using the port number rather
than the name using the syntax <server>:<port>
Also, make sure SQL Server Browser servie is running.
Thank you,

|||thanks for the response. I am running everything on the same machine, do you
know what I should use for the port # or how I can get it? Also I did not
see were to start the SQL server browser service, I do have SQL server agent
running as well as the database.
