So where do I go from here/
SSMS doesn't seem to have anything like QA?
I spent the better part of today installing everything...read somewhere about using VS to write code for sprocs.
What does everyone else do?WHAT?
SSMS doesn't save server registrations?|||Is everything GUI now?
I just attached AdventureWorks thorugh the GUI, very easy, but how the hell do realease stuff to production?
I mean, man, I need my scripts|||I got it...New Query
Man that's one busy interface
Thank god [CTRL]+E still exists|||SSMS should still keep your registered servers in a window named registered servers. I think it asked me if I wanted to import the SQL 2000 registered servers, since it noticed I had around 40 of them.|||Yeah, I see it now...
Is Northwind No more?
Maybe I can dump and restore that|||Northwind and pubs (sniff) are no more. They have been replaced by AdventureWorks and AdventureWorksDW. If you back up a Northwind database from any SQL 2000 server, you can restore it no problem on SQL 2005. You will see a few upgrade messages fly past at the end of the restoration, and the database will be left in 80 compatibility mode, but that can be fixed quickly enough.
