SqlServer"
2. I want the restrict all the user to connect only from SA login .. can't
connect through windows authentication.. what I have to do for this ?
3. Which license would be good Per seat or Per processor.

2008 Management Studio?
Hi all... I installed the 2008 CTP, and am trying to figure out where
Management Studio is.
I want to play around with the new auditing features and stuff... but can't
find any way to use it.
I tried searching "add features" in the BOL, but find nothing of any use.

Do you have SQL Server 2005 installed on the server on which you also
install SQL Server 2008?
Because if there is SQL Server 2005' s Management Studio is installed then
SQL Server 2008' s SSMS (Client Tools) will not be installed. You'll need to
uninstall SQL Server 2005' s Client Tools to be able to install SQL Server
2008's Client Tools.
If this is not your situation, then you may be missed to choose Client Tools
in SQL Server 2008 Setup\ Feature Selection\Shared Features?

|||Also, if it's the Express Edition of SQL Server 2008 CTP, there is no
SSMS\SSMSE with it. There is SSMS of SQL Server 2008 only in the Developer
Edition CTP for now.

|||Huh? I get what you say, but why the heck? That seems really odd,
considering they install in separate folders and hence, should be able to
coexists, and you can't even connect to the 2008 db anyway with the 2005
tools. It complains and says they can only be used to connect to 2000 or
2005 servers.
Someone at MS must've been a little distracted when they wrote that
installer. :-S

If you have Mgmt Studio 2005 Express installed on a machine and install
Mgmt Studio 2005, this does not work out. You cannot run both versions
of Mgmt Studio on the same machine. I guess it's something similar here,
except that the installer prevents it from even happening.
There is a fix for connecting to SQL 2008 from SQL 2005 Mgmt Studio,
available in Cumultative Update 5: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943656.
But I get a little worried when you say you install SQL 2008 on a machine
on which you already have SQL 2005. Not that that in itself is wrong, but
I hope this is not your day-to-day machine. I definitely recommend against
installing beta software on machines you don't want to reinstall. Not that
I know that the SQL 2008 CTP will wreck your machine, but it's not a game
of change I'm prepared to play myself. Personally, I install all betas on
virtual machines.

2005 and Triggers?
Hi all of you who've had a chance to play with 2005...
I have two quick questions with triggers in 2005.
1. Will there be available true "BEFORE" triggers as opposed to the "INSTEAD
OF" triggers?
2. Will triggers now be fire-able in a "FOR EACH ROW" style as opposed to
bulk triggers?

Could you explain exactly why you want to do that. There's bound to be
a better solution (i.e. set-based code rather than row-at-a-time).

Could you explain exactly why you want to do that. There's bound to be
a better solution (i.e. set-based code rather than row-at-a-time).
